Alder Foundation Leadership

The Leadership Challenge:

God calls all believers to the ministry.

  • The definition of a minister: a servant who lives serving God and others. As Christians, that is our calling.

How do we serve God and others?

  • For some, it might be a full time church position; for others it might be with a para-church organization; for others it might be in business, and for others it might be at home…the list goes on.

We ought to seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance to show us how and who to minister to.

There is nothing more fulfilling to me than being where God wants us to be and doing what He wants us to be doing.

Matthew 9:35-38 (NIV)
35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.
36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

While Jesus traveled through the towns, he taught, preached and healed every sickness. And yet, he was filled with compassion. Why? Because the people were like sheep without a shepherd. They were leaderless.

As ministers of the Gospel, we must take up the challenge and lead those around us. There are sheep everywhere that need a shepherd. Our families, friends, co-workers, staff, neighbours… This is the Alder Foundation leadership challenge!
